My Background
My motivation & my path with horses
Horses have been part of my life since childhood. They have shown me how much strength lies in the quiet connection between human and animal. Through intensive work with them I have learned to look closely: horses do not communicate loudly, but through subtle, honest signals. That language fascinates me to this day.
Especially since I have had my own horse Shama at my side, I have learned an enormous amount. It amazes me again and again how much we can learn about ourselves from animals. Once a year, by the way, Shama and I set off on a very special adventure far from therapy work: a multi-day trail ride together.
These experiences were the impulse for my training as an equine-assisted therapist. At Hof Gruben I want to create a protected space in which people, big or small, can find calm, build trust and grow beyond themselves.
Professional background & understanding people
My main job is in project management at Spital Glarus. I run the therapy practice alongside it with great passion. For me it is an ideal combination, bringing together my organisational experience in healthcare with the strengthening effect of working with horses.
My career has taken me through very different industries, from my time as a flight attendant to project work in IT. Working with a wide range of people, hierarchies and cultures, as well as my work in project management, has taught me a lot about what moves people and the backgrounds they bring with them.
With an international family spread across the whole world, my heart beats for cultural diversity. On request, I am happy to offer therapy sessions in English.
And otherwise?
When I am not at the hospital, on the farm or being creative in the pottery studio, I head outdoors: together with my partner and our German shepherd Nanuk, I love climbing the mountains of beautiful Glarnerland.
