Terms & Conditions

for the equine-assisted interventions of Hooves & Mind

1. Scope & general

These general terms and conditions apply to all offers, sessions and contracts between the therapist and the clients or their legal representatives.

2. Content and design of the sessions

Holistic approach: Riding is not the main activity. Depending on need, development goal and individual situation, grooming, feeding the horses, stable work or other activities around the horse and the stable may also be part of the session.

The animals' daily form: The safety and well-being of humans and animals come first. Should a horse show no willingness on a given day, the therapist will, at her discretion, try to switch to another horse or adapt the session to groundwork accordingly.

3. Farm rules & presence on the premises

Entering the farm: Entering the farm premises is permitted only together with the therapist at the agreed appointment time. Exceptions require the express consent of the therapist or the stable owner.

Absence of parents: Parents and accompanying persons are not present during the therapy session, in order to give the child a protected and undisturbed setting.

No smoking: A strict smoking ban applies on the entire farm premises.

4. Equipment & clothing

Footwear: Clients must wear closed, sturdy footwear throughout the session. Hiking or trekking shoes or trainers are recommended, for example.

Helmet requirement: For a ridden session, or any content that requires a riding helmet, the client or child is strictly required to wear a properly fitting riding helmet or an ISO-certified bicycle helmet.

Clothing: Long, comfortable trousers that allow easy movement are recommended (walking, riding, exercises from the ground or on the horse). Clothing may be worn or dirty after the sessions.

5. Weather conditions

Sessions generally take place in all weather. Clothing must be adapted by the client or parents according to the weather conditions.

Should the weather (e.g. severe storms, extreme heat or cold) pose a danger, the therapist reserves the right to adapt the programme on site or to cancel or postpone the session.

6. Cancellations & cancellation fees

Cancellations by clients: Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the agreed appointment.

Late cancellations: For cancellations less than 24 hours before the start of the appointment, or for unexcused no-shows, 50 % of the fee for the reserved session will be charged.

Cancellations by the therapist: If the therapist cancels due to illness or weather, the appointment will be rescheduled free of charge where possible.

7. Liability & insurance

Horses are by nature flight and herd animals. A certain residual risk always exists when handling them.

Participation in the sessions and entering the premises is at your own risk.

Clients or their legal representatives are obliged to take out adequate health, accident and liability insurance, including cover for damage and accidents when handling horses and riding, with the addition "insurance for riding other people's horses". No liability is accepted for accidents outside the therapy or riding session.

8. Data protection

Handling of data: All personal data and information from the sessions is treated as strictly confidential and processed exclusively for carrying out and invoicing the therapy.

Disclosure to third parties: Disclosure to third parties (e.g. doctors, schools, legal guardians) takes place only after prior written release from confidentiality by the clients or their legal representatives.

In addition, the statutory provisions of data protection law and our privacy policy apply.
